Innsbruck and not an adjective in sight

Innsbruck is the capital city of the federal state of Tyrol (Tirol) in western Austria. It is located in the Inn Valley at the junction with the Wipptal (Sill River), which provides access to the Brenner Pass, some 30 km (18.6 mi) south of Innsbruck. It is about half way between Munich (Germany) and Verona (Italy). Located in the broad valley between high mountains, the Nordkette (Hafelekar, 2,334 metres or 7,657 feet) in the north, Patscherkofel (2,246 m or 7,369 ft) and Serles (2,718 m or 8,917 ft) in the south. It is an internationally renowned winter sports centre, and hosted the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics as well as the 1984 and 1988 Winter Paralympics. Innsbruck hosted the first Winter Youth Olympics in 2012. The word bruck comes from the German word Brücke meaning "bridge" which leads to "the bridge over the Inn". Courtesy of Wikipedia

It is its location with the mountains all around and the buildings in the old town which ensure that visitors are charmed by the city.

Rather than try and describe the sights, as words seem inadequate, I hope that the following photos tell you the story!

Some of the photos were taken from around 850m above the town as we took a funicular to that level for the view as well as to see the village at that level

Today was the last time we need to buy vignettes (we think) and therefore the car is adorned with 7 of them (in Hungary the vignette was purchased online and you get an emailed receipt not a physical sticker) and yes we still have some of the tape

hanging off the mirror on the passenger side.

Tonight we have booked in for a Tyrolean Evening at a restaurant so it could/should be interesting (www.tirolabend.info)
