When doing not much turns into a lot

We had our plans today to go to three locations and 10 hours later that had been achieved.

Viktualienmarkt - Famous grocieries market in the city centre, selling any imaginable sort of fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, spices, and so on together with various craft items.

Also plenty of places to get a quick bite to eat as well as its own little beer garden.

Has been in operation since 1807

Residenz- Is the former royal palace of the Bavarian monarchs in the centre of the city

It is the largest city palace in Germany and is a complex of buildings that contains ten courtyards.

There were three main areas to visit.

The Treasury which contained priceless items of various description

The Residenz Museum which was around 90 rooms available to be viewed displaying various treasures

but it was the rooms themselves that were the attraction, none more so than the Antiquarium which was over 60m in length and was simply stunning

The Cuvillies Theatre was the theatre where performances were put on for the court and courtiers of the Residenz and was opened in 1753

We spent quite a few hours in and around the Residenz this afternoon.

Eisenbachwelle - At the mouth of the artificial stream that runs through the Englischer Garten there is a standing wave produced by water pumping mechanism.

Surfers attempt to surf on this wave for as long as they can and attract a crowd of onlookers.

The novelty of it is such that you can spend a lengthy time watching!

And that ended another day of our trip which is quickly coming to an end!

By the way the rain from yesterday had moved away and we enjoyed another fine day.
